The small village of Carradale is within
easy walking distance. There is a small shop at the harbour which
sells a variety of goods and newspapers. The Village Shop sells
most foodstuffs, newspapers, bakes it's own bread and pastries and is
also an off licence. The Carradale Hotel serves meals in the bar and also a la carte meals in the
restaurant. There are also two guest houses in the village, the Ashbank and Dunvalanree,
that will provide you with a good quality meal. |
| Carradale Bay is a long sandy beach, perfect
for walking, with or without a dog, and collecting shells along the tide
line. The harbour is home to a small fishing fleet, and some
evenings when they land their catch, you can buy fresh fish direct from
the boats. The local speciality is langoustine which are delicious. |

| Carradale golf course is a scenic nine hole course with
many elevated tees and some very tricky holes. The golf course is
situated in the village. |

There are three pony trekking centres, Carradale Pony Trekking
is situated at Waterfoot, just outside the village, with reduced
rates for people staying at Lorneholme.There are countless
beautiful walks and also the Kintyre Way which enables one to walk the whole length
of the peninsular. |
